Fertility clinics are required by federal law to report the outcome of any Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) to the Center of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The CDC publishes these fertility success rates in an effort to help patients make informed decisions about ART.
The CDC defines ART as all fertility treatments in which both eggs and sperm are handled including:
- In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) with fresh embryos from non-donor eggs
- IVF with frozen embryos from non-donor eggs
- IVF with embryos from donor eggs
