Benefits of Sharing Your Fertility Struggles

Issues with fertility may be a touchy subject for many people who may be going through some fertility struggles. It can be difficult to talk about the problems and setbacks you may be experiencing, but it is important to know that you are not alone in your struggle. Having issues with fertility is not an uncommon thing and talking about what you may be going through can be beneficial, not only for yourself but for others who may be experiencing the same problems.

You are not alone in your fertility struggles.

According to the CDC, 15% of couples and individuals experience some degree of fertility issues. Infertility is defined as not being able to achieve a pregnancy after trying for 6 months if a woman is over the age of 35 and 12 months if a woman is 35 and under. Fertility is not just the result of women’s health, however. About half of all fertility issues are a result of male infertility.

Recently, many celebrities have been forthcoming about their fertility struggles. Hosts of the new show, “FABLife,” Chrissy Teigen and Tyra Banks have been open about their struggle with fertility and the journey they have had to go through to start their families. By sharing the good and bad times, it gives others experiencing the same strife a look into the process and hope that they too can make it through the process and achieve a family.

By discussing your feelings and issues you have encountered with your fertility with family members, friends or a support group, you can relieve some of the stress and anxieties you may be enduring. Don’t keep your feelings and issues bottled up inside. When you open up, it may even help others open up too about their infertility issues and allow them to make the first steps to seeking help and infertility treatments.
