Find the helpful tips you need for preparing for IVF

When you’re getting ready for an IVF cycle, you probably have a lot of questions. The Fertility Center of Las Vegas (FCLV) team is here to stand by your side, providing answers and support. One of the most common questions that patients have is about what they should be doing when preparing for IVF. Our Las Vegas fertility center team has compiled some tips that can help anyone who is about to undergo in vitro fertilization.

The best tips for preparing for IVF

It can feel daunting to undergo an IVF cycle. You may even feel like the situation is out of your control. However, there are several things you can do to put yourself back in the driver’s seat and improve your chances of IVF success.

Start embracing a nutritious diet that includes leafy greens, whole grains, lean proteins and plenty of water. At the same time, you’ll want to cut back on refined carbs, fried foods and sugary snacks.

Taking a daily prenatal vitamin with at least 400 mcg of folic acid is a great action to take when you’re preparing for IVF.

Engage in light to moderate exercise several times a week to stay healthy and help deal with the stress of life and fertility treatment. We recommend walking, swimming and yoga, rather than heavy weight training or long distance running.

Avoid tobacco products and alcohol and consider decreasing your caffeine consumption if you have more than a cup or two of coffee each day. Doing so can help protect your fertility and your future baby.

Taking simple actions like these when preparing for IVF can have a big impact on the success of your cycle at our Las Vegas fertility center.
