About Dr. Carrie Bedient, Southern Nevada’s only female board certified REI
As Southern Nevada’s only female board certified reproductive endocrinologist, Dr. Carrie Bedient feels privileged to help men and women reach their full family-building potential. She is dual board certified in both obstetrics and gynecology as well as reproductive endocrinology and infertility, with advanced training in minimally invasive robotic and laparoscopic surgery.
After graduating from the University of Arizona College of Medicine, she performed her residency at Case Western Reserve University & Cleveland Clinic Foundation Metrohealth Medical Center, followed by fellowship training in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at Emory University. She earned the Khalid Ataya Excellence in Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility Award and was invited into membership in the Gold Humanism Honor Society for exhibiting empathy, compassion, respect, altruism and integrity in medicine.
Dr. Bedient contributes to the field of reproductive medicine in her role as clinical assistant professor at the University of Nevada School of Medicine’s Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology. She also excels at research, and investigates the causes of infertility and improved protocols in advanced reproductive technology. Her recent published papers and book chapters include frozen versus fresh embryo transfers, the use of robotics in reproductive surgery, adolescent fertility preservation and a comparison of robotic and laparoscopic myomectomy.
Sub-speciality training and professional associations
Dr. Bedient is particularly interested in fertility preservation for patients undergoing toxic therapies for medical conditions such as cancer, as well as third-party reproduction for same-sex couples and individuals. She has pursued advanced training in minimally invasive surgery to correct uterine anomalies, endometriosis and other gynecologic issues.
Dr. Bedient is a member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, Society of Assisted Reproductive Technology, American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists and the Pacific Coast Reproductive Society.
In her spare time, Dr. Bedient gives back to the community, advocating for women’s health initiatives. She also enjoys traveling, baking, spending time with her husband and two young children and walks with her dog Gigi.
