Dr. Bedient to speak about infertility awareness at Rock4Health
When Amanda Klein started Rock4Health, she wanted to spread infertility awareness. Carrie Bedient MD and every Las Vegas fertility doctor at The Fertility Center of Las Vegas (FCLV) also share this goal.
On May 5, Dr. Bedient will speak about infertility at the Rock4Health event at Tivoli Village in Summerlin, Nevada. She joins a variety of speakers who will discuss infertility, surrogacy, adoption, cancer prevention, mental health and general women’s health.
Speaking at Rock4Health is important to Dr. Bedient
As a Las Vegas fertility doctor, Dr. Bedient is passionate about raising infertility awareness. “Many women and men don’t think about their fertility until they have trouble conceiving. By speaking about this topic, we can empower people to be proactive about their reproductive health,” she explains.
1 in 8 couples will face infertility, but many hopeful parents feel alone when they face fertility struggles. According to Dr. Bedient, “Patients often feel a sense of relief when they realize they aren’t the only ones who need help from fertility treatments to conceive.”
Another fact that brings hope to women and men is that infertility is a treatable medical condition. “Assisted reproductive technology has come a long way and we can successfully treat most cases of infertility. It’s like any other medical condition because the right diagnosis and treatment can make a world of difference,” Dr. Bedient says.
About Amanda Klein, the founder of Rock4Health
Amanda is an FCLV patient. She is also Mrs. Red Rock and is competing for Mrs. Nevada-America. Her platform is You Are Not Broken, which is an infertility awareness campaign. This cause is near and dear to her heart.
“We have suffered through three miscarriages, seven surgeries, two IVF cycles and lots of tears. While infertility has been a painful and challenging journey, I wouldn’t change it for the world as it has given my life greater meaning and purpose. Through my platform, You Are Not Broken, I help women talk about infertility. At least one in eight women struggle with infertility, and yet you don’t often hear about it because women do not share this part of their life with society. I believe this is because we feel damaged or broken in some way. But the more we open up, the less lonely this journey becomes,” she explains.
