Congratulations on your embryo transfer! This is a huge step on your journey to bring home a healthy baby using IVF. The Fertility Center of Las Vegas team knows that you’ve likely waited a long time for this day to come. However, you may now be wondering how to take care of yourself after embryo transfer.  Our Las Vegas fertility center experts are here with some post embryo transfer care tips to help provide some guidance.

Advice for post embryo transfer care

Many hopeful parents worry about doing something that will interfere with their pregnancy success after embryo transfer. You can breathe a sigh of relief because your likelihood of success has very little to do with the precautions you take after the transfer.

As a result, most of our post embryo transfer care tips relate to pampering yourself and preparing your body for pregnancy.

  • Your body has been through a lot during IVF, so take a few days after embryo transfer to rest and recharge. You don’t have to stay in bed all day, but you should take some time to treat yourself because you deserve it.
  • We also recommend that you keep taking any medications that your doctor prescribed. For example, progesterone can help the uterine lining be more receptive to an embryo. You’ll also want to start taking a daily prenatal vitamin with folic acid if you haven’t already.
  • It’s important to eat a balanced diet as you prepare to grow a little life inside of you. Be sure to get a lot of fruits and vegetables as well as foods with B vitamins, calcium, iron and protein.

Finally, we know it’s hard to resist the urge to take a pregnancy test right away. However, this could lead to a false negative or positive right after embryo transfer. That’s why we recommend waiting about two weeks to have a test at our Las Vegas fertility center.
