Take control of your fertility journey by understanding IVF cycle costs
When you’re dealing with infertility, it’s common to feel like you’re not in control. The Fertility Center of Las Vegas (FCLV) works hard to help you get back in the driver’s seat. Our Las Vegas fertility doctors help you understand the wide variety of fertility treatments available at FCLV. Our team also takes the time to help you learn more about the financial side of fertility care. It’s why we carefully discuss what to expect from IVF cycle costs.
What is included in IVF cycle costs?
Once you and your doctor decide that in vitro fertilization (IVF) is the right choice for your needs and goals, it’s important to learn about the costs of IVF. At our clinic, the following services will be included in your self-pay IVF cycle costs (cycle inclusions differ when using insurance, depending on plan).
- In-house cycle ultrasounds and bloodwork
- The egg retrieval procedure and anesthesia
- Surgery center fees for the egg retrieval procedure
- FCLV currently includes unlimited embryo transfers for one year from the retrieval date (including fees for in-house ultrasounds, bloodwork, transfer procedures and surgery center fees). NOTE: There is a fee for Ovation® Fertility services for each frozen embryo transfer.
- Cycle administration and coordination costs
- The semen wash at our laboratory partner, Ovation
- Fertilization at Ovation (including egg identification, ICSI, embryo culture, assisted hatching and embryo freezing)
An IVF cycle includes several steps, and your IVF cycle fee covers all the services listed above. This means you don’t need to pay additional fees to receive them. Our patients find that this arrangement makes it easier to predict and budget for their IVF cycles.
What is not included in the costs of IVF?
While your IVF cycle costs will cover many components of your treatment, your fee doesn’t cover everything. The costs of IVF do not include the following services.
- Any required diagnostic testing performed before the IVF cycle
- Fertility medications for retrieval and transfer cycles (necessary)
- Pregnancy charges at FCLV (necessary once pregnant)
- Fertility surgeries and cyst procedures at FCLV (if needed)
- Mock transfers and medications (if needed)
- Preimplantation genetic testing (PGT) (if requested)
- Embryo thaw and prep by Ovation lab for additional transfer cycles (if needed)
- Storage of frozen embryos (if needed)
- Sperm freezing and storage with Ovation (if needed)
- Donor sperm purchase and thaw of sperm at Ovation lab (if needed)
- TESE (sperm extraction) procedure (if needed)
- FDA screening (when required, if not part of the package inclusion)
- Cycle blood test and ultrasound monitoring performed at another clinic (if requested)
- Medication injections from an FCLV employee (if needed)
Everyone undergoing IVF will need fertility testing, medications and early pregnancy care. However, these fees are separate from the costs of IVF at our clinic.
The remaining services on the list are not part of every IVF cycle. You will work with our Las Vegas fertility doctors to determine whether you need any of them, based on your needs and preferences. If you do want or need any of these services, you will need to pay an additional fee for them.
