Find hope for the future on Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day

No one should ever have to lose a pregnancy or a child, but sadly, we live in a world where this happens. 1 in 4 women will face a miscarriage, stillbirth or the death of an infant. The Fertility Center of Las Vegas (FCLV) stands with these parents to help them move from heartbreak to hope.

On Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day, we take time to remember these babies and pregnancies. Our Las Vegas infertility center also offers treatments to help patients who have experienced pregnancy loss on their journey to parenthood.

What is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day?

Before we discuss treatments that help bring rainbow babies into the world, it makes sense to talk about this special day of remembrance. October 15 is a time for people everywhere to remember all the babies and pregnancies we have lost.

The main event is the International Wave of Light. You can participate by lighting a candle at 7 p.m. your time and keeping it lit for at least one hour. Doing so creates a continuous “wave of light” that spans the globe.

You can also spend Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day sharing memories and feelings with loved ones. Other options include posting on social media about your experience and donating to a charity that helps people who have faced pregnancy or infant loss.

What types of treatments can help you welcome a rainbow baby?

Each person and loss is different. Sometimes, there isn’t a clear reason why a patient lost a pregnancy or a baby. In other cases, diagnostic testing can help find the cause. As a result, our Las Vegas infertility center team will order tests like preconception genetic testing and bloodwork before recommending a treatment plan.

The test results will help our doctors make treatment recommendations. For example, if a genetic condition is responsible, IVF with preimplantation genetic testing (PGT) can help. If uterine abnormalities are to blame, our physicians can perform minimally invasive surgery to fix them.

Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day is a beautiful time to honor the children who are no longer with us. It’s also an opportunity to explore your options to have a rainbow baby. When you feel ready to take the next step, contact us to schedule an appointment.
