Don’t forget about the guys with male infertility testing
When it comes to female and male infertility testing, the man is an important part of the puzzle. Without enough healthy sperm, it’s difficult to fertilize an egg to achieve pregnancy. As a result, our Las Vegas fertility center will order a semen analysis to explore specific factors.
- Sperm count, or the number of sperm per mL of semen
- Semen volume, or the amount of semen in the sample
- Sperm morphology, or the number of sperm with a normal shape
- Sperm motility, or the number of sperm that are alive and moving
Our laboratory team will also look for white blood cells, measure the acidity of the seminal fluid and consider how long it takes the semen to liquefy after ejaculation.
Providing a semen sample is a simple process. You’ll simply ejaculate into a sterile container. Then, our team will prepare the sample and examine it in the laboratory. If any abnormalities appear, your doctor may recommend treatments like IUI or IVF.
