If you have been trying to conceive for at least a year without success, you may be experiencing infertility.

Dr Bruce Shapiro explains some of the complications that can cause infertility.

Infertility Testing

The purpose of infertility testing is to determine the origin of the problem in achieving successful pregnancy. At The Fertility Center of Las Vegas both partners will be evaluated, so that the best determination for treatment can be made.

Male Infertility Testing

Evaluation of the male factor involves a semen analysis, post coital test, hormonal determinations of testosterone, FSH (when indicated) and urological evaluation.

Female Infertility Testing

Female evaluation consists of four factors — the cervix, the endometrium, the fallopian tubes and the peritoneum (surroundings of the ovaries within the abdomen), as well as ovulation patterns.

Our dedicated team will complete a thorough assessment to determine the cause of your infertility. We will examine you and your partners’ health and sexual histories along with the diagnostic testing. Once all the information is gathered and analyzed, your doctor will recommend the most suitable infertility treatment.

You might be surprised to learn that:

  • Over 6.1 million women ages 15-44 have difficulty getting or staying pregnant
  • Infertility isn’t just a female problem – 1/3 of all infertility cases are caused by the man, 1/3 are caused by the woman and 1/3 are caused by a combination of both or unknown problems
  • The number of married women ages 15-44 who are considered infertile is 1.5 million
  • 7.4 million women ages 15-44 have sought infertility treatments
