Our clinical coordinator helps patients navigate their journey through fertility care
As a valued clinical coordinator, Katie Collins assists women and men in reviewing their fertility treatments and instructions, ordering medications, receiving updates after appointments, and facilitating overall care at our Las Vegas fertility clinic. The support Katie provides helps guide hopeful parents through their fertility care, enabling the smoothest possible path to take home a healthy baby.
A career as a clinical coordinator was meant to be
Although Katie didn’t set out to work as a clinical coordinator in the fertility industry, she’s grateful it’s where life led her. She first gained an interest in fertility care through a friend. This friend, who had worked in third party reproduction and had been a gestational surrogate, shared her experiences with Katie. Katie was moved by her friend’s beautiful story and fascinated by what she heard. She quickly got a job working in the third party reproduction department of our Las Vegas fertility clinic. One of her favorite aspects of this branch of fertility care is how it provides opportunities for same sex couples to become parents.
After working with egg donors, sperm donors and gestational surrogates, Katie made the transition to become a clinical coordinator, a position she loves. From interacting with coworkers to meeting with hopeful parents, Katie values every part of her job and is excited to come to work every day.
“I love getting to know the patients. They reach out to me with personal questions and requests for support, so we inevitably become close. When I hear about their positive pregnancy tests, I’m elated,” Katie says. “It’s also amazing to see the baby photos and to reconnect when they come back to continue growing their family.”
Spending quality time with her son
Outside of working as a clinical coordinator, Katie enjoys hiking and traveling with her 13-year-old son and their two dogs. In addition to making regular trips to Mexico with her son, where they zipline and savor the local cuisine, Katie makes an annual trip to Europe with her siblings. As her extended family lives in New Jersey, that’s also a regular stop for Katie and her son.
Beyond her biological family, Katie enjoys the work family she is a member of at our Las Vegas fertility clinic. “The doctors here not only offer amazing patient care but take the time to support everyone on the team and answer all our questions. We all want the best for the hopeful parents, and one another, which makes this an amazing place to work.”
