April Capulong supports hopeful parents and doctors during important procedures
April Capulong often supports hopeful parents receiving ultrasounds, intrauterine insemination (IUI), egg retrievals and other fertility procedures at our Las Vegas fertility center. She is our medical assistant supervisor and supports our fertility doctors in many of the most important procedures at our clinic.
Finding her way to FCLV
April began her education in medicine in the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) medical assistant program. She then worked for UNR Medicine for nine years. During that time, she developed a passion for nursing, and enrolled in Nevada State College’s nursing school.
In 2019, April Capulong joined the team at our Las Vegas fertility center. “I was ready for a stimulating change and had always been intrigued by the fertility industry,” she says. “I definitely found what I was looking for at FCLV.”
An appreciation for helping hopeful parents fulfill their dream of parenthood
Patient care is one of April’s favorite parts of her role, as she enjoys helping hopeful parents stay positive, and release any anxiety or negativity they may have about their journey to parenthood. “When I meet a nervous hopeful parent, I tell them to imagine the joy of holding their baby. I help them shift their attitude and find hope and positivity,” she says.
April also enjoys assisting with egg retrievals. “They’re so fascinating,” she says. “Seeing the follicles and watching the doctor retrieve the eggs is amazing. It makes me excited to go to work.”
A positive work environment
Regarding the culture at our Las Vegas fertility center, April Capulong says, “It feels so rewarding to work at this clinic. We’re treated like we’re family, not just employees.” She also appreciates how the team at our clinic provides compassionate and comprehensive care, ensuring each woman and man receives the best possible chance of building their family.
But above all, April loves when hopeful parents become pregnant, saying, “There’s nothing like the look of pure joy on a hopeful parent’s face when they hear they’re pregnant.”
When April isn’t working as our medical assistant supervisor, she’s hiking on the various trails around the city with her 10-year-old son and 8-year-old daughter.
